This book is very much a photographic homage to the immense beauty of the stunning county of Devon. From its rugged Atlantic and English Channel coasts to its hilly and at times rugged countryside, this is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, one that deserves to be photographed in detail.

This book takes a tour through all this beauty, focussing not just on the most famous sights (of which there are many), but also homing in on many less known places. Well-known locations featured include the historic riverside harbour town of Dartmouth, the surfing beaches – such as Croyde Bay and Woolacombe – of the rugged Atlantic coast, the ye-olde quaint village of Clovelly, the fashionable city of Exeter, and the rugged hills and dense valley woodlands of both Dartmoor and the Devonian section of Exmoor National Parks.

Lesser known places include the lovely little seaside town and estuary harbour of Teignmouth, the isolated coves and river estuaries of the South Hams, and some of the beautiful gardens of inland Devon.

This book also features some of the county’s most well-known annual festivals, including the adrenalin-pumping Ottery Tar Barrels, held every November in Ottery St Mary, the rather tongue-in-cheek Shaldon Water Carnival, and a number of the county’s many agricultural shows, most especially the Devon Shown, held every May.
